9:30 am-10:30 am - Location 1:   Arlington’s Catering & Historic Venue, 201 Broadway, Springfield, IL 62701
  • Arrive in Springfield, find a parking spot and go directly to Arlington’s (address above).
  • Registration/Check-in at Arlington’s upper level.
10:30 am - 11:30 am – Education Presentation: 2026 Illinois Pharmacy Legislative Day

11:30 am - Noon – Box Lunch
Turkey or Vegetarian – Please do NOT take a vegetarian lunch if you did NOT order one.

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm – Walk to Capitol for Legislative Visits – A short walk.
Please take all your personal belongings with you. We do not have a location to store personal items for the day.

1:30pm - 4:30 pm – Location 2: Illinois State Capitol, 401 S 2nd St, Springfield, IL 62701
Meetings with Legislators - Your appointment information will be provided at Arlington’s on Legislative Day.
4:30 pm – Visits end and everyone departs the Capitol.

Learning Objectives


At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician participants should be able to:

1. Explain how a bill becomes a law in the state of Illinois.
2. Discuss current legislative priorities in pharmacy practice for the 2026 legislative session.
3. Identify opportunities for professional advocacy within pharmacy practice.

Accreditation

ACPE LogoThe Illinois Council of Health System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This activity provides 1.0 contact hour (0.1 CEU) of continuing pharmacy education credit. ACPE Universal Activity Number (UAN) 0121-9999-26-015-L03-P & 0121-9999-26-015-L03-T Type of Activity: Knowledge-based  Attendees must complete a program evaluation and CPE submission online at www.CESally.com. After successful CPE submission to CPE Monitor, attendees may print their statements of continuing pharmacy education credit at NABP.pharmacy.

Target Audience: This knowledge-based activity was developed for Health-System Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

Faculty Disclosure: It is the policy of ICHP to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all of its education programs. In accordance with this policy, faculty must disclose to the participants any financial relationships with ineligible companies whose products or devices may be mentioned in faculty presentations, or with the commercial supporter of these continuing pharmacy education programs. An ineligible company is any entity whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, reselling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. Any resident or fellow presentation is reviewed by a content specialist preceptor. These disclosures will be available at the program.

PTCB requires CPhTs to submit 20 hours of pharmacy technician-specific (‘T-specific’) continuing pharmacy education (CPE) to qualify for recertification. Please advise all pharmacy technicians at your site of this change. As an ACPE accredited provider, ICHP will continue to include Technician specific programming in most if not all of our CPE programming.  For PTCB recertification, CPhTs may use up to 5 hours of P-specific credit hours and CPhT-Adv up to 10 hours of P-specific credit hours.

CPE Monitor: When claiming CE credit for this program, you will be asked to provide your NABP e-Provile ID # and Birthday. This information will be required by any participants seeking CPE credit.  Visit www.ichpnet.org/cpemonitor/ for information about CPE Monitor and how to obtain your NABP e-Profile ID.
